SITE OF BLADDER-TUMOUR RECURRENCE

1974
Abstract Thirty-two patients with well-differentiated, non-invasive, transitional-cell bladder tumours were followed up for between 2 and 5 years. Treatment was entirely endoscopic, using fulguration or loop resection. The vault of the bladder was significantly more often the site of recurrent tumour than the site of primary tumour. This finding might be explained by implantation of tumour cells into the vault after initial treatment.
