Design of Computer Peripherals Management Card Based on ARM
2012
The primary goal of this research is starting from the hardware to ensure security of computer information. The technique we have applied is referred as a design of computer peripherals management card based on ARM. The shape of the card is using a PCI card form inside the chassis. A dedicated USBKEY interface is designed in the extended baffle. PCI-USB is used on the card, the USB0 of the PCI bridge chip is designed as the access port of ARM. USBKEY interface connects to the ARM's USB port. The ARM audits the authorization credentials and then enables the control ports, controls the hard disk's, CD driver's and others' power supply. A large capacity FLASH, connected to the ARM, is designed as a information store to record the name of peripherals, the user entry time and identification, the user view datas and other information during the process of using the phripherals. Driver test results show that the card is stable and reliable. The host power supply, CD driver, USB interfaces and hard disk can not be used when authorization credentials does not match. Therefore, it can be concluded that this work has contributed to protecting the user information from the hardware requirements of computers.
