The Fairy Tale about the Wise Man
2018
A collection of tales from the Weimar Republic, edited by Jack Zipes and illustrated by a variety of contemporary artists, my submission was a 1 page visual to accompany "The Fairy Tale about the Wise Man" (1923) by Eugen Lewin-Dorsch
Narrative abstract: Once upon a time there was a wise man who studied books his entire life, and that was all he did. He wore grey steel-rimmed glasses, which is known to be a sign of great learning. Everything appeared grey to him as though made out of thick and misty fog, and he considered that to be the way things should be.
