Effects of cyclosporin A on acid-base balance after hypoxia-ischemia in rats

2013
Objective To investigate the effects of different doses of cyclosporin A(CsA) on acid-base balance after hypoxia-ischemia in rats and discuss the effects of CsA in terms of antishock. Methods The experimental rats were divied into the following 6 groups with traumatic hemorrhagic shock model of SD rats: normal control group, shock control group,LR group,LR + CsA 1 mg / kg group,LR + CsA 5 mg / kg group, and LR + CsA 10 mg / kg group.Draw blood of every group before the shock,at the end of shock,1 hour after recovery, and 2 hours after recovery respectively, and observe the changes of blood pH,HCO3-,base excess(BE),and lactate. Results At the end of shock, blood pH,HCO3-and base excess decreased while lactate increased obviously which indicated acidosis clearly in all groups. After fluid resuscitation, blood gas index improved accordingly. And the three doses of CsA could relieve symptoms of acidosis with better effects than lactated ringer’s solution alone.Among them,CsA 5 mg / kg had the best resuscitation effect. Conclusion CsA can effectively improve the blood gases for traumatic hemorrhagic shock.
