Observation of dislocations by the positron annihilation method
1994
Abstract In a study of positron lifetimes in nickel metal it has been found that the intensity of the longer lifetime component has a temperature dependence which is strikingly different in the case of a majority of vacancy-like defects and a majority of dislocations. It is suggested that the observed difference, which is most pronounced in the region 10–100 K, will constitute a useful method for improved analysis of defects in solids.
