Agility and COVID-19 Pandemic 'Success and Failure'

This article aims to figure out why COVID-19 pandemic has impacted countries differently, and what makes countries succeed or fail in dealing, managing and leading Today’s challenging situations. the article represents reflection of Abu Hammour agility model [1] in the context of COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, two groups of countries have been studied based on Abu Hammour 3 pillars of agility [1]; understanding probable future, building and reinforcing agile capabilities and agile culture.  These pillars have been playing a crucial role before and within COVID-19 global disruption. Certain countries have been successfully containing, controlling COVID-19 pandemic, and been well-prepared into full recovery faster and more flexible. In contrast, the other group have been struggling resulting in failure. A way forward, researchers speculated that there will be a second wave of COVID-19, which will be harder. This article urges each country to promptly understand, assess and work on its agility level across all sectors, starting with the healthcare, food, pharmaceuticals, education, manufacturing, as well as all other government and private services.
