Gefährdung des Grundswassers durch saure Niederschläge - Untersuchungen im Einzugsgebiet eines Trinkwasser-Flachstollens des Wiesbadener Hochtaunus. III: Ganglinienanalysen

1995
Intensive sampling of an investigation area with weekly sampling intervals and close sampling points, as done in the investigation area «Kalter Born», allows detailed study of the dynamics of the hydrological processes. The evaluation of time series of streamflow discharges and the contents of chemical elements yields information about water mixing processes, which could be shown for the, Theissbach' at sampling point T 2 and for the groundwater gallery «Kalter Born». Simple mixture computations with sulfate as indicator parameter show the proportion of a less acidified baseflow and the mixing of acid waters from the upper groundwater sections close to the infiltration level. It becomes evident that selection of the sampling points and timing are of great importance for interpretation of the measuring results. Neutralizing processes can also be distinguished, different buffering mechanisms can be identified and the effects of redox processes can be shown by evaluation of the time series
