Study on Assistant Anti-hypertension Effect of Apocynum among Hypertensions Patients

2010
[Objective] To study the improvement effect of apocynum on hypertension.[Methods]116 subjects whose systolic pressure was equal to or greater than140 mmHg, or diastolic pressure was equal to or greater than 90 mmHg were divided into the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was given 6 pills of drug daily for 5 weeks, and the control group was given the placebo in the same way as the experimental group. The change of blood pressure between before and after experiment was compared.[Results]In the experimental group, the systolic pressure decreased by (19.2±14.0) mmHg averagely, and the diastolic pressure decreased by (12.9±16.3) mm Hg averagely. There were significant differences in the changes of the systolic pressure and diastolic pressure between before and after experiment in the experimental group, and the different between the experimental group and the control group was significant, too (P0.01).[Conclusion]Within experimental dose range, apocynum can assist in anti-hypertension.
