Essential Oil of Myrrhinium atropurpureum Schott (Myrtaceae) Leaves

Abstract Essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation from the leaves of Myrrhinium atropurpureum (Myrtaceae) growing in southern Brazil were analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Twenty compounds (99.3%) have been identified of which α-pinene (12.2%), limonene (35.0%) and 1,8-cineole (23.4%) were the major components.
