Linkage Between Public Universities and SMES the SMES of the Tourist and Cultural District of Riohacha, La Guajira

The purpose of this research is to analyze the linkage between public universities and SMEs in the tourist and cultural district of Riohacha, La Guajira. It is a descriptive research and its design is non-experimental of transectional field type. It required two study universes, the first one related to public universities and the second one to small and medium-sized enterprises. The survey was used as a technique for the collection of information, using a questionnaire addressed to the two universes, which have content and construct validity. For the statistical analysis, the calculation of absolute frequencies and relative frequencies of the responses was used. The most relevant results: Individual counseling is given to the business sector, student internships are carried out in companies, the university has projects for business incubators, companies recognize the usefulness of university knowledge. public universities have a good image with businessmen. It is concluded that the most important linkage modality is the exchange of personnel and the personnel training modality is in second place. As for the motivation for the linkage, it is concluded that for both sectors the university potential is considered as the most important and finally the most relevant barriers are the procedural ones, represented in the lack of knowledge of the needs of the business sector by the university sector, the inadequate marketing of the services offered by the university and the bureaucratic difficulties in the university to make the interrelationship a reality.
