Method for gasification of a carbonaceous solid material
1981
The invention relates to a method of gasification of solid carbonaceous material in a molten iron bath furnace. A non-submerged lance 4 is used for injecting coal, oxygen or water vapor to the surface of a bath 5 of molten iron. A depression 10 is formed in the surface of the bath 5 so that the ratio of the depth L of the depression 10 to the depth Lo from the bath 5 is maintained between 0.05 and 0.15. The rate of injection of solid carbonaceous material is maintained between 50 and 300 m / s in order to avoid the formation of an adherent mass 8 on top of the oven 1. Application: gasification coal and other carbonaceous materials. (CF DRAWING IN BOPI)
