The disclosure relates to a method and a device applied to application installation. One embodiment of the invention provides a method applied to application installation. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving a request for installing an application on a first operating system instance; detecting whether the application is adapted to being completely installed onto the first operating system instance or not; and determining a second operating system instance for installing at least one part of the application responding to a condition that the application is not adapted to being completely installed onto the first operating system instance, wherein the second operating system instance is different from the first operating system instance. The disclosure further describes a corresponding device.
