Rola interdyscyplinarnych badań terenowych w poznaniu obszaru przyrodniczo cennego na przykładzie progu Karpat w Rzeszowie

2016
Field studies still remain one of the main groups of methods used in environmental sciences. They are oftenof interdisciplinary and utility nature because their results are applied in environmental shaping and nature conservation. This is a theoretical article and refers to the interdisciplinary research undertaken at the threshold of the Carpathians, within Rzeszow. The purpose of the research is to widen the knowledge of the environment, followed by postulatingpossibility of the area protection. It is achieved mainly through a fieldwork that includes studies of: vegetation (vascularflora and plant communities), valuable populations of vertebrates especially birds, reptiles, amphibians and abioticelements of the landscape associated with an interesting landslide landforms and water conditions. In determiningthe natural values of the area rare species, endangered, protected and the ones which are important from ecologicalpoint of view play an important role. Therefore the planned research aims at specifying these groups. The next step withinthe research procedure will be evaluation of anthropopressure and the basic processes of environmental functioningas well as its quality. The authors express their hope that such an interdisciplinary look at the environment will allowthe isolation of its most valuable features which will justify its subsequent protection.
