The invention discloses an information interaction method and system for distance education. The method is characterized by comprising the following steps of: converting the first interaction information from a teaching resource supply end into a first reduced instruction; transferring the first reduced instruction to one or more user ends through the network; reproducing the first reduced instruction as the first interaction information at one or more user ends; and displaying the first interaction information at one or more user ends. Through the invention, compared with the video mode of traditional distance education, the cooperative operation of a teacher and students on the courseware is realized, and the interactivity (particularly real-time interactivity) between the teacher and the students is enhanced. By effectively reducing the transmission quantity of the interaction data, the occupation of network bandwidth and the storage space of courses are greatly reduced. Meanwhile, the method and system disclosed by the invention facilitate the inquiry of interaction information in the distance education course.
