He was diagnosed from upper gastrointestinal series, barium enema examination, computed tomography and angiography. He underwent right hemicolectomy. Histological diagnosis was well differentiated adenocarcinoma.Fiftyone cases of midgut nonrotation in the adult has been reported in the Japanese literatures since 1956. Averaged age of them was 39.4 years (male: female=2.3:1). Twentyone cases had the diagnosis on operation, 25 from preoperative examinations, and 4 after operation. Four cases of them were associated with carcinoma of the colon.Midgut nonrotation can be diagnosed accidentally from upper gastrointestinal series and barium enema examinations for other disorders. In adults, state of midgut nonrotation may lead to a mistaken improsssion of associated lesion.
