Macroscopic Analysis on Hysteresis Loops of the Pb1.1Zr0.52Ti0.48O3 Film

2003
Hysteresis loops play an important role on the fundamental characteristics of ferroelectric materials. In this article, a method is proposed on the basis of Landau theory to analyze the information in the hysteresis loops of the PZT (Pb1.1Zr0.52Ti0.48O3) ferroelectric thin films under different temperatures and make some predictions such as the Curie temperature, the Curie constant, the spontaneous polarization, and so on. Furthermore, from the Clausius-Clayperon equation, the difference between the upper-limit temperature at which ferroelectric phase occurs under applied electric field and the Curie temperature can be verified. Despite of some degree of inconsistency between the observed values and the predicted ones, this method is still of great potential, especially in further application based on more precise theories other than Landau's.
