Synergism of influence of monoethanolamine and ammonium pentaborate on corrosion and corrosion fatigue of st3

1986
The authors make a comparative study of how the corrosion-electrochemical behavior and corrosion fatigue of steel 3 in 3% solution are affected by ammonium pentaborate (APB), monoethanolamine (MEA), and a compound based on them, namely dimonoethanolamineammonium pentaborate (DMAAP), which is a complex with the components in the ratio 1:2. The synthesis of DMAAP is described. The authors find that the cyclic lifetime of the steel in 3% NaCl is increased by factors of 6, 4, and 19 in the presence of APB, MEA, and DMAAP, respectively, while the coefficients of reserve cyclic strength are increased by 125.6, 122.6, and 146.2 MPA.
