Simulation and Optimization on the Forming of Cylinder of Belt Pulley by Shovel Spinning Technology

The inner cylinder of belt pulley is studied by using shovel spinning which is presented as a new spinning process. CATIA is used in three-dimensional modeling. A 3D rigid plastic FEM model is established by the software Deform. The simulation of the inner cylinder of belt pulley is analyzed in terms of the rotation velocity, feed rate, fillet radius and diameter of the spinning roller by using the orthogonal test which aims to get the optimum processing parameters, and the forming load is also investigated. A set of optimal process parameters is achieved at the end.
