One pot, three-component synthesis of novel 3,4-dihydrophthalazin-2(1H)-yl-4-phenyl-4H-pyrans

Abstract Green and efficient one pot, three-component synthesis of novel 2-amino-6-(1,4-dioxo-3,4-dihydrophthalazin)-2(1 H )-yl-4-phenyl-4 H -pyran-3,5-dicarbonitriles 6 has been developed by condensing 3-(1,4-dioxo-3,4-dihydrophthalazin-(1 H )-yl)-3-oxopropanenitrile 3 , benzaldehydes 4 and active methylene compounds 5 using l -proline as catalyst in EtOH at RT.
