Labour productivity in apple production [Yugoslavia]

1997
The objective of the study was to analyze labour productivity in apple production in an agricultural enterprise in the Srem region, Serbia (Yugoslavia). Labour productivity was determined using the data on yield and manpower per unit area over the period 1993-1996. Labour productivity was unfavourable in highly intensive apple production. During the period 1993-1996 average labour productivity was 12.4 kg per hour of manpower. Maximum productivity was registered in 1993 (17.5 kg/ha) whereby yield per unit area (22.282 kg/ha) was highest as well. Lowest productivity was noted in 1994 (5.6 kg/ha) primarily due to very low yield (7.028 kg/ha) per unit area.
