A method of performing a hydrothermal carbonization reaction tank and for this purpose

2011
Known processes for the hydrothermal carbonization are very time-consuming since in the biomass used for this purpose, the carbonation reaction proceeds only gradually. This is due to the different, prevailing in different parts of the biomass reaction conditions. These also cause an inhomogeneous reaction product. The object of the invention is both the acceleration of the process, and the improvement of the result. This is achieved by a swirling of the biomass within the available reaction space by means of injection nozzles which inject the steam at a high speed so that the biomass is swirled. This ensures that the carbonation reaction can proceed after the introduction of the biomass evenly and promptly.
