The invention discloses a calibration method of the image rotation formula initial angle of a laser tracker. The calibration method comprises the steps that a target ball of the laser tracker is fixed, an electric rotating table is controlled to rotate the tracker, then a pitching motor is controlled to carry out vertical scanning, and light spots irradiating a PSD are made to pass through a tracking zero point of the PSD; an azimuth-drive motor is fixed, the pitching motor is controlled to carry out vertical scanning, the light spots are made to pass through the zero point of the PSD, the light spots move parallel to the axis X' or the axis Y', and multiple coordinates (X', Y') are recorded; fitting is carried out on the slope of a scanning straight line according to the obtained coordinates (X', Y'), and the corresponding image rotation formula initial angle is solved according to the slope. According to the method, the target ball is scanned through automatic control over the motor, the image rotation formula initial angle is calibrated, and the advantages of being easy and convenient to operate, low in cost, convenient to use, practical and the like are achieved.
