Measurement of Surface Wave Velocity and Anisotropy at Edges Using Point-Focus Acoustic Microscopy

A new technique for measurement of SAW velocities by lateral scanning in the vicinity of an elastic discontinuity is presented. The method uses a point-focus SAM with a tilted lens. The angular dispersion of SAW propagation on Si(100) is measured. The accuracy of this method is considered.
