Charge ordering and inter-layer coupling in cuprates

2 U 0 � kBTc and is due to inter-layer charge complementarity (charge asymmetry of the boson condensate) where ξab is the coherence length of the condensate and a0 � 3.9u is the in-plane lattice constant. The model naturally leads to the effective mass of m � � 4me found by experiment. The static c-axis dielectric constant ǫc is calculated for various cuprates and compared with the available experimental data. We find correlation between Tc and the inter-layer spacing d, ǫc and with the coherence area of the condensate.
