Pitch detection method combined improved ACF with weighted wavelet components

Autocorrelation function method and wavelet transform are the classical pitch detection methods. The shortcomings of these methods are analyzed when they are used alone, on the basis of this, a new method combining improved autocorrelation function with weighted wavelet components is proposed. The improved autocorrelation function is used to compensate for the peaks of the traditional autocorrelation function. The components of multilevel wavelet transform are weighted to emphasize the fundamental frequency information. And then the two methods are combined to emphasize the peak at the position of the true pitch period. Experimental results show that compared with the classical methods, the method can decrease double frequency errors、half frequency errors and pseudo random point errors, the precision of the pitch detection is improved.
