Occupational Justice for Persons Receiving In-home Care Services - A Survey in Kitanakagusuku Village, Okinawa -
2016
In order for elderly persons requiring care to live with dignity in the community, the authors believe it is crucial to ensure occupational justice. The purpose of this research was to ascertain the status of occupational justice for persons requiring care, and this was done by investigating the living situations of persons receiving in-home care services, and their actual conditions of and need for social participation. The aim was to find the best approach for supporting persons requiring care. The subjects were 178 persons receiving in-home care services in Kitanakagusuku Village, Okinawa, and they were compared against a control group (75 participants in primary and secondary preventive projects). The survey items were: basic personal attributes, problems, hopes for community activities, and work activities (main current activities, activities which give life purpose, activities the subject wants to try in the future).
