Wind vibration study on new COSCO building

2011
Based on the new COSCO Building, First, the wind pressure distribution of four typical wind angers were especially studied in CFD analysis. Second, WAWS method (weighted amplitude wave superposition) was used to simulate the fluctuating wind velocity time-history, which fits Davenport power spectrum and spatial correlation. Finally, the wind vibration coefficient is obtained by applying the Gust Load Factor Method and compared with the result calculated by the ‘Load Code for the Design of Building Structures’. The research indicates that the shape coefficients and wind vibration coefficients are quite different among all the wind angles because of the large wind disturbance from the surrounding buildings, and the result of FEM analysis was more realistic than the Code (GB5009-2001). As a result, the suggested wind vibration coefficient is given through considering all aspects of the wind vibration effect.
