Simulation of AGV Dynamic Grouping Scheduling Considering Real-Time Operation of Quay Crane

In the automated container terminals, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) are important equipment in the handling operation. Every handling operation of quay crane, all AGVs participate in the process, which causes the waste of equipment resources. In this paper, the AGV dynamic grouping scheduling strategy considering the real-time operation of quay crane is proposed, that is to dynamically configure AGV of corresponding scale according to the number of working quay cranes. This paper establishes a wharf handling operation model based on FLEXTERM simulation software. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is used to evaluate the simulation data of different quantities of AGVs under the fixed quay crane quantity, and the optimal ratio of quay cranes and AGVs is obtained. According to the optimal ratio, a corresponding number of AGVs are dynamically configured for quay cranes.
