Electron paramagnetic resonance investigation on Zn1–xMnx O thin films grown by MBE
2009
We present the results of an electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) study on Zn1–xMnx O thin films grown by molecular beam epitaxy on sapphire substrates. The Mn concentrations in the samples vary between x = 0.03 and x = 0.3. Our results show a dominant antiferromagnetic coupling of the Mn2+ ions. The obtained Curie-Weiss temperatures are consistently smaller compared to results of earlier investigations, this is likely to be caused by an inhomogeneous distribution of the Mn2+ ions in the samples.
