Identification of sources contributing to the contamination of the Great Waters by toxic compounds (revised)

1993
The Great Waters Program as written in section 112(m) of the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA) specifies that U.S. EPA, in co-operation with Commerce/NOAA, shall conduct a program to identify and assess the extent of atmospheric deposition of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) to the Great Waters which include the Great Lakes, Lake Champlain, Chesapeake Bay, and other coastal waters. The report evaluates the available data on the sources of HAPs within and outside the watersheds of the Great Waters (Great Lakes, Lake Champlain, and Chesapeake Bay), and discusses the difficulties in deriving such quantitative information. An effort is made to reconcile the emission data discussed with measured and estimated loading rates.
