TOROIDAL FIELD CIRCUIT FOR A LARGE RFP EXPERIMENT

The characteristics of a multiturn toroidal field inductor for a large RFP device are examined; in particular an attempt is made to optimize the number of the turns and the winding radius as regards the amount of flux outside the plasma vessel and the distortion of the toroidal field lines compared with a uniform pattern of the field.
