Genotyping of Giardia lamblia and methods of its detection

The pathogenicity of giardia is closely related to its genotype.Recent advances in a molecular technique,real-time PCR,have provided real-time quantification,a high degree of sensitivity,a high degree of specificity,and other advantages.This technique is widely used to clinically test for viruses,bacteria,and parasites.This paper summarizes the genotyping and detection of Giardia lamblia.
