Factors Related to Social Service Workers' Job Satisfaction: Revisiting Herzberg's Motivation to Work
2013
Drawing on Herzberg's concept of motivation to work, we investigate characteristics related to job satisfaction among social service workers. Logistic regression analyses support Herzberg's insights with a motivation variable—variety and creativity—having the most predictive value and a maintenance variable—experiences with supervisors—also predicting job satisfaction. Implications for research and practice are discussed.
