Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the level of physical activity of elderly participants in the cohabitation group and associated factors. Materials and Methods: This is an analytical, cross-sectional and quantitative study. Data were collected from a questionnaire that addressed socio-demographic and economic aspects (age, marital status, skin color, education and remuneration), anthropometric (BMI and CA), life habits (smoking, alcoholism and physical activity), and of assessing the level of physical activity using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), short version. Bivariate analysis was performed using the chi-square test. In all statistical analyzes, statistical significance was considered for p <0.05. Results: A total of 49 elderly individuals with mean age of 69 ± 6.88 years were evaluated. Being 72.4% male and 28.6% female. When analyzing the sociodemographic variables associated with the level of physical activity of the elderly, we observed that men are more active than women. It was possible to observe that the majority of the elderly are not diabetic (77.6%) and are in good health (44.9%). As for the anthropometric measures, there was a prevalence of overweight (46.9%), elderly and altered WHR (69.4%, 75.5%). Conclusion: It is concluded that the practice of physical activity may contribute to the improvement of the functional capacity and quality of life of the elderly.
