The invention belongs to the field of rear earth luminescent material, and discloses a silicon-based nitride red fluorescent powder, and a normal pressure preparation method and applications thereof. The silicon-based nitride red fluorescent powder is prepared via following steps: an alkaline earth metal carbonate, Si3N4, a rare-earth oxide, and a solid non-carbon reducing agent are weighed and mixed uniformly, and an obtained mixture is subjected to normal pressure calcinations in inert atmosphere so as to obtain target products. The chemical formula of the silicon-based nitride red fluorescent powder is M Si N :xRE, wherein 0alkaline-earth metals Ca, Sr, and Ba, RE is used for representing at least one selected from rare earth elements Eu, Tm, and Dy. According to the preparation method, the solid non-carbon reducing agent is adopted, so that a carbon residue problem of the products is avoided, post-treatment such as carbon removing is avoided, and carbon content of the silicon-based nitride red fluorescent powder is low; the used raw material alkaline earth metal carbonate and the solid non-carbon reducing agent are easily and widely available, so that production cost of the silicon-based nitride red fluorescent powder is reduced greatly, luminescence properties of the silicon-based nitride red fluorescent powder is guaranteed, and application requirements on high-quality white light LED are satisfied.
