Intelligent characteristic value determination for cutting processes based on machine learning

Abstract The need of safe technological process parameters is one of the main tasks for further automation, especially in the machining of parts. On that purpose, a system for the intelligent forecasting of specific cutting forces was developed. It uses an ANN, based on the strategies of machine learning, to determine the specific cutting forces from given planning data and recorded process data. The System provides the opportunity to forecast specific cutting forces on similar operating conditions. This Information can be used in planning stage for process optimization and also for further automation tasks.
