The invention relates to a hybrid system for pipe network monitoring based on wireless sensor networks, which comprises a commanding center, a wired portion and a wireless portion, wherein the wired portion comprises a camera and a first server; the wireless portion comprises sensor nodes, a convergence center and a second server; the camera is used for shooting real-time videos of pipe networks; the first server processes the real-time videos shot by the camera by using a video detection algorithm; the sensor nodes are used for acquiring real-time information of the pipe networks; the convergence center is used for receiving the real-time information acquired by the sensor nodes, and sending the received real-time information to the second server; and a center server performs corresponding judgments according to the information uploaded by the first server and the second server and displays abnormal conditions combined with two-dimensional map information on a display screen of the commanding center with reference to two-dimensional map information. The hybrid system for pipe network monitoring based on wireless sensor networks can remedy defects of video monitoring systems effectively so that an effective monitoring system with high anti-damage capability is formed.
