Permeability of the continental crust: implications of experimental data
2003
Abstract We suggest a correlation of the crustal rocks' permeability with depth based on the original experimental data. The analyticalexpression for the trend is given by log k = −12.56−3.225 H 0.223 , where k is in square meters and H is in kilometers. The permeability decreases from 2.75 × 10 −13 ± 1.9 m 2 at the surface to 1.67 × 10 −20 ± 1.5 m 2 at the base of the crust.
