Changes in the Teaching of Undergraduate Mathematics: The Role of Technology

The past decade has seen significant changes in the teaching of mathematics in the United States. There are new curriculum guidelines for primary and secondary school mathematics written by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. There is a flurry of activity around the teaching of calculus, both at the university and at the secondary school level. There has been a tremendous upsurge in the number of presentations on educational issues at professional meetings.
