Application progress of high gravity technology in electrochemical reaction

Electrochemical technology is widely applied in the developments of water and wastewater electrolysis industry,chlor-alkali industry,preparation of materials,synthesis of organic,etc.However,the process of electrochemical reaction inevitably produces bubbles,which leads to poor mass transfer and high energy consumption.In recent years,the researchers at home and abroad apply the high gravity technology—a new process intensification technology to the process of electrochemical reaction.The results show that the high gravity technology can enhance the mass transfer,remove air bubbles during the electrochemical reaction process.The high gravity technology used in the electrochemical industry is expected to not only reduce energy consumption,but also prepare the electrodeposited materials with excellent performance,which presents a broad application prospects.It outlines the current research advances at home and abroad,summarizes the findings,and indicates the defects and its future development prospect.
