Cutaneous vascular responses in diabetics

1975
Abstract Cutaneous circulatory responses in the lower extremities of 26 diabetic patients were studied utilizing plethysmographic and isotope clearance techniques. The diabetic group demonstrated diminished capacity for vasodilatation to both direct and indirect stimuli. The data does not allow differentiation of neuropathic and angiopathic involvement. The diabetic group also demonstrated a significantly lower rate of 133-Xenon and 131-NaI clearance.
