NEUROPROTECTIVE EFFECTS OF VITAMIN D SUPPLEMENTATION IN CHILDREN WITH CYANOTIC HEART DEFECTS: INSIGHTS FROM A RODENT HYPOXIA MODEL

Neurological injury in cyanotic congenital heart defects (CCHD) is multifactorial. Vitamin D (VD3), due to its potent anti-oxidant effect, is neuroprotective in both ischemic and inflammatory diseases. We hypothesized that VD3 supplementation in patients with CCHD mitigates neurological damage. This
