The rheological behavior for thixocasting of semi-solid aluminum alloy (A356)

Abstract Under the condition of die-casting and reheating temperature of 570–580 °C, the rheological behavior for thixocasting of semi-solid aluminum alloy (A356) is pseudoplastic at the shear rate of 2×10 3 to 10 4  s −1 , and is dilatancy at the rate over 10 6  s −1 . It is given a new model of metal mush during thixocasting.
