Investigation of Thermodynamic and Chemical Parameters in Rotating Detonation Engine
2015
The present numerical simulation is based on the two-dimensional (2D) unsteady Euler’s equation with a single-step Arrhenius reaction model to investigate the stationary detonation wave front of a H2-O2-Ar mixture. This Quasi-steady State Simulation (Q.S.S) scrutinizes the influence of pre-exponential factor (k), activation energy and heat release parameters on the detonation flow-field and their impact on the propulsive performance. This paper also provides an insight about the advantages of Q.S.S and flow-field characteristic analysis of RDE. It was found that the work done by the low pre-exponential factor value is higher than the work done by the larger "k" value.
