Possible relationship between the ratio $pi$$sup +$/$pi$$sup -$ and the average multiplicity

1974
If charge distribution in a collision process becomes "statistical," then the ratio $\frac{{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}}{{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}}$ could be used to measure the average multiplicity. A detailed mathematical analysis is given as well as a discussion of physical limitations.
