Mechanical Test on Modified Concrete with Recycled Plastic Particles and Its Numerical Simulation

In this experiment,different amount of recycled ABS/PC plastic particles were put into the normal concrete.The test of cubic compressive strength,axial compressive strength,splitting tensile strength and flexural strength were carried out to study the mechanical performances of the modified concrete with different content of recycled plastic particles.Based on the two-dimensional random round aggregate model,the finite element method was used to numerically simulate the uniaxial compressive strength of the specimen on meso-level,and the stress-strain curves of modified concrete with different plastic content were obtained.The numerical results were compared with the experiment which showed that this method can well be used to simulate the mechanical characteristics of modified concrete with recycled plastic.
