The substantiation and choice of basic solutions on the E-160-3.9-440 boiler for the AO Mosenergo state power station no. 1 (GES-1)

The discussion is concerned with problems of the development of the E-160-3.9-440 boiler for the thermal power station GES-1 to substitute for the existing equipment. Reasons are presented for the particular choice of its arrangement, fuel combustion process scheme, mechanical design of the burners, and thermal scheme. The discussion also concerns the design solutions for the main parts of the boiler that allow its arrangement within the existing boiler compartment in spite of raising its thermal capacity.
