Clinical Serological and Intestinal Immune Responses to Rotavirus Infection of Humans

1991
Rotaviruses are one of the most common infectious agents with the potential to cause disease in humans that are encountered during the normal life span. Infections of the intestinal tract have been documented in newborn babies, in young children, in adults and in the elderly (Bishop, 1986; Hjelt, 1988; Hrdy, 1987; Steinhoff, 1980). The clinical consequences of infection differ in different age-groups (Rodriguez et al. 1987).
