Dermatoglyphics and the simian crease in infants of low birth weight. A pilot study.

1971
Summary Dermatoglyphic features and simian crease incidence were studied in 73 neonates with a birth-weight under 2 000 g. There was a higher frequency of simian crease, typical and transitional types, as compared with two control groups of 100 normal neonates and 929 school-children. There was no significant difference in the incidence of dermatoglyphic features between the low birth weight and the control neonates.
