The theory of readers’appreciation of Natsume Soseki and the theory of receptive aesthetics of Jauss are the two important theories which attach importance to readers’understanding process.The corresponding comprehensions on readers’functions of these two theories are differences because the two theories are born in different background and different times.The former considers thatthe readers are passive acceptor in the writing,while,the latter emphasizes thatthe readers are motile creation in the writing.
